CESAR ANOT
Cesar Anot was born in the Ivory Coast.
He grew up in a large family from which he inherited the values and the spirit that animates today his life and his music.
He soon distinguished himself from his brothers by his irrepressible desire to make music.
In his adolescence, he became co-founder, author, composer, and interpreter of the songs, which have been a extraordinary success in all african states with the group WOYA.
Cesar is recognized today as one of the most talented bassists, songwriters and arrangers on the international music scene.
Among his countless collaborations, we can find him for more than 20years alongside Tony Allen, undisputed master of afrobeat groove, but also next to Hank Jones, Cheick Tidiane Seck, Macy Gray, Amp Fiddler, David Murray Questlove, Mory Kantè, Martin Solveig, Damon Alban (Blur Gorillaz) and Lucio Dalla.
Cesar has also contributed for 25 years to the success of the corsican group of I MUVRINI, with whom he won two prestigious gold records: ALMA and UMAN
SALVO MINIO
Salvo Minio was born in Sicily.
From his family he inherited a great passion for music and popular musical traditional songs, not only from Sicily.
Due to his vocal uncommon ability at a very young age he was invited to join
some musica l groups and folkloric shows and performed in many cities.
In 1995 he moved to Florence where he intensified his activity and reached the artistic maturity.
The songs written together with his brother Pino are the poetic expression of
inner feelings and prelude to the musical project AFROSIC.
The meeting with Sergio Salaorni and Jacob De Mel will mark the beginning of
a journey which would lead Salvo to the meeting with Cesar.
Their happy collaboration made of great commitment and passion prepared
and made ready AFROSIC for the generai public.
